Jack continued his terrific play at the ITF Junior World C hampionships, beating the number two-ranked player in the world, Alexander Vasilev of Bulgaria in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. Due to the tiebreak rules for this tournament unfortunately Jack did not make it to the semifinal group, but he has now beaten the number 2, 3, and 8 players from the ITF top 10. Match 4 vs. Wilwerth
In the wee hours this morning, Jack squared off against fellow American Ben Wilwerth in the fourth round of the ITF World Junior Championships. Jack needed a win have a chance to advance to the semi-final round of the top four players. Jack played some of his best tennis in the opening set, dominating Ben with big aces and several brilliant passing shots, taking the set 6-1. Match 2 vs. Schoenhaus
After a decisive win in Round 1, Jack faced off against Max Schoenhaus, the #4 seed in this tournament and a tough 18-year-old German player who beat Ben Wilwerth, Jack's US teammate in the first round. Max opened very strongly, with a great serve and multiple aces, and jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first set. Match 1 vs Roig
Jack and Roig are both played well early in this match. They traded serves to 3-3 and then Jack got the first break to go up 4-3 but was unable to hold his serve as they moved to 4-4. Jack hit a bit of a rough patch with some unforced errors, but managed to stay even at 5-5. Roig jumped out to a 40 love lead but Jack battled back and they played multiple deuces before Jack broke him to go up 6-5, putting himself in a position to serve for the set.
